Introducing the Coppice Community Hub! Our mission is to provide essential resources and support to our local community, creating a space where everyone can find something of value, whilst also promoting sustainable practices within our community.
Here’s a snapshot of what we offer:
A Pantry for All
We launched our community pantry with a very popular Friday Night Curry Club. This initiative allowed families to collect bags filled with ingredients to make a delicious curry. It was a wonderful way to promote our new pantry, as well as provide families a weekend cooking activity to do together. We will keep our pantry stocked with recipe bags, to help make lives a little easier.
Resource Cupboard
As autumn approaches (if we get a summer first!), our resource cupboard will become an invaluable asset. It is stocked with winter coats, bedding, and duvets for those who need them. We are committed to keeping our community warm and ensuring that new, but end-of-line stock doesn’t go to landfill.
Family Toolkits
Our Family Toolkits are tote bags packed with resources that families can borrow. Whether it’s a board games bag for a fun night in, a wellbeing toolkit for mental health support, outdoor games to enjoy the fresh air, or colouring kits for creative expression, there’s something for everyone.
Pre-Loved School Uniform
In line with our sustainability goals of reduce, re-use, and recycle, we offer pre-loved school uniforms. This not only supports families by reducing cost but also helps us ensure that barely worn uniform doesn’t go to landfill. We will also be stocking seasonal clothing such as Halloween outfits and Christmas jumpers, to promote a more sustainable future.
Community Collaboration and Signposting
We believe in the power of community collaboration. That’s why we work closely with local services like Brimhams Active and Harrogate Library to provide information and other signposting services. By connecting people with additional resources, we aim to create a supportive network for all. We also signpost the different levels of support we offer in school, to our families.
Future Expansion
We’re continuously looking to expand our offerings to better serve the community. Thanks to generous grants and the funds generated from our clothes banks located at the front of the school, we are well-positioned to sustain and grow our hub. To support what we do, please use our clothes banks!
