St Wilfrid’s Children’s Remembrance Service
Free Family Movie Afternoon and Children’s Remembrance Service at St Wilfrid’s on Sunday 20th October 2019 at 2pm.
We will be screening Disney Pixar’s film Coco, which is all about the power of remembrance, and how the act of remembrance can help us cope with the death of a loved one. After the film at 4pm there will be a short children’s service in church, where children get the chance to create an “ofrenda” in memory of someone close to them who has died.
They sing a song, bring a photograph of the person they want to remember for the ofrenda, lay some flowers and light a candle. This is a very informal service, children of all ages attended last year. Everyone is welcome to come along, just email [email protected] to let us know you are coming. Families are welcome to attend just the film but not the service (or vice versa).
