Introducing local Mum Rachael Dunseath, founder of Myroo Skincare
When you become a mum everything changes. As the kids grow and you take them to school not only can you find that you’ve lost a bit of your own identity, you can even loose your name. In the playground I am not Sally, more often than not I am known as “Tilly’s mum”. That’s ok, I am cool with that and I am proud to be Tilly’s mum, it’s one more medal on my chest. I have definitely been guilty of not knowing who other mums are either and I’m not cool with that. Unfortunately in reality life gets in the way and I whizz in and out of that playground like a whirling dervish, time is short!
Sometimes though, you suddenly find out all this interesting and cool stuff about a fellow mum and it is a timely reminder of just how much we can achieve as well as being a mum. One of my fellow school mums is a marvellous example. Not just “Freya’s mum” Rachael Dunseath has built an amazing business, Myroo Skincare.
Myroo Skincare is a huge local success story, founder (and local mum of two) Rachael began creating the products when her youngest daughter Freya was born. “My journey with natural skincare started when Freya was born with childhood eczema and I started making balms from my kitchen table I ran Myroo as a lifestyle business as the girls grew. I relaunched with the new branding and proposition in 2016 following my own development of a nut allergy. The timing was also right as the girls were older and I was ready to scale the business.
Myroo Skincare is organic and vegan. We don’t use gluten, nut, dairy or palm ingredients. We are free from all known synthetic irritants and we offer fragrance free on every single product. We’re registered with the Vegan Society and we’re cruelty free. We formulate for sensitive and allergic skin based on my own experiences with multiple allergies, eczema and sensitive skin.
We’ve won multiple product awards and business awards and we’ve supplied John Lewis and are nationwide with Anthropologie. We’re in the middle of a brand refresh and lots of new products on the way. At the moment we offer 5 products in fragrance and fragrance free.” You can see the full range here.
Mumbler was lucky enough to try out a couple of products, the Raspberry & Cucumber Superfood Balm & the Skin Boost Serum. Both were absolutely gorgeous and felt wonderful on my skin. The balm in particular is a real favourite. It works absolute wonders on dry skin. (lips, elbows, knees and heels particularly.)
If you’re planning on a new years resolution to take better care of your body in 2018 or have a bit of Christmas money to spend then I’d highly recommend getting your hands on these delicious products.
