North Yorkshire County Council are waiving the standard road closure fee for anyone who wants to hols a street party to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The nation will mark the Jubilee with a four day bank holiday for Thursday 2 to 5 June. Are you having a street party?

Thursday 2 June until Sunday 5 June
We have a fun-filled four-day free event for families to enjoy with a mix of magicians, juggling shows, character meet and greets, fairground rides, face painting, climbing wall, live music performances and mini discos.
There will also be an artisan market on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Valley Gardens, Sun Colonnades and Parlours offering a selection of produce, crafts and plants.

Come join Light Water Valley for our Best of British May half-term week, filled with celebrations and jubilations to honour our Queen’s Jubilee.
York Spring Fair & Food Festival returns to York Racecourse for 10 days of Jubilee Holiday fun from 27 May to 5 June, bringing together one of the largest vintage funfairs seen in North Yorkshire, a food festival as well as live music and family entertainment!
THE place to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee, with the lighting of York’s beacon on the evening of Thursday 2nd June and the opportunity for a Big Jubilee Lunch on Sunday 5th June, where the array of food and drink stalls can provide a picnic to suit all tastes!
Admission £5 for adults on off-peak days and £7.50 on peak days, children aged 12 and under free. Tokens for funfair rides and game stalls can be purchased on site at £3 per ride/game. Gates open at 10am daily. Full details at www.yorkspringfair.co.uk.
Wander into a world of Enchanted stories at Mother Shipton’s this Jubilee weekend.
See giant story books and a Wonderland of fairy-tale themed displays with fantastical photo opportunities throughout the ancient woodland. Watch out for the pesky dragon, The Wicked Witch of the West and the Big Bad Wolf, peek into miniature fairy houses, and sit on the Wishing Chair throne. Dressing up as your favourite storybook character is thoroughly encouraged, prizes will be awarded to Mother Shipton’s favourites when you share them on Instagram #mothershiptons.
New dance show for children – see it in Leeds this June bank holiday weekend
The Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre is based at Northern Ballet’s headquarters on Quarry Hill in Leeds, and is a family friendly venue with baby changing facilities, pram storage and level access.
Friday 3 – Sunday 5 June, with performances at 12.00pm and 3.00pm each day.
Tickets cost £11 for adults and £9 for children.
Jubilee Square, Harrogate Stray
Thurs 2nd – Sunday 5th June
West Park Stray in the centre of Harrogate will be transformed into a family-friendly fun-fest to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Taking place over the four days of the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend there will be live music, family films and live broadcast of the main events taking place in London.
