Good2learn is a brand new, online learning platform for Primary school age children, built and developed in Yorkshire. Its aim is to make life easier to support your child in Maths and English and to help them reach their full potential.
The difference with this learning platform is that the lessons are delivered by real people. They are easy to follow and aligned to the current national curriculum, aimed at Primary school children particularly ages 7-11. My son is 7 and I’ve seen a few online learning apps and websites by now but they have all been cartoons, it’s really refreshing to see a real person deliver a real lesson. Each 2-5 minute lesson has been developed by local teachers and education professionals and they are delivered on Good2Learn by their friendly and engaging presenters.
Here’s a short video showing what the lessons are like:
To make it easy the platform has been developed to work across all devices so can be used on a smart phone, tablet, laptop and desktop computer. I tried a few lessons with my 7 year old at home on my laptop and then also a few while waiting for a pub tea to arrive on my phone.
Good2Learn are bridging the gap between classroom and home, and helping parents help their children. Founder Paul Mandalia told me about the concept –
“Sometimes, it’s very frustrating when trying to help your kids with their homework. A lot of the methods and requirements that children have to follow have changed since we were at school, which can mean that either we can’t help or we just confuse them.”
“On top of the video lessons, Good2Learn motivates children through awards and certificates for their efforts, provides interactive exercises and quizzes, tracks progress, and notifies parents when their child has logged on and completed tasks. A growing number of schools locally and nationally are collaborating with Good2Learn and we’ve received an overwhelmingly positive response from teachers, head teachers, parents and the kids themselves.”
Since launch earlier this year Good2Learn are delighted to have been awarded ‘Best eLearning Content UK 2018’ by NewTek and also recently won ‘Best Digital Start Up 2018’ in the Hull Digital Awards. Good2Learn are also working alongside charities such as Child Dynamix and are providing content for Fusion Fostering.
Good2Learn is a subscription based learning platform and they have a special limited time launch offer running at the moment to receive 50% off the usual price, making the monthly subscription just £9.99 a month instead of £19.99 for both maths and English subjects. A family with up to three children can access the platform for that price, watch lessons and complete digital interactive exercises.
