Open Farm Sunday – 3 local Harrogate Farms you can visit for free!
LEAF Open Farm Sunday is the farming industry’s national open day. Visit a farm on Open Farm Sunday on 9th June and discover the world of farming.
A fantastic chance for old and young to discover real farming at first hand and see for themselves how their food (and much more besides) is produced. It is also a great way for farmers to shine a light on what they deliver and why supporting British farming matters.
There are 3 farms in Harrogate and surrounding areas FREE to the public on Sunday the 9th of June
1. Birchfield Farm
Birchfield farm is a picturesque working farm nestled in the valley of Nidderdale, North Yorkshire in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is home to a herd of Jersey cows whose rich milk & cream is used to make our delicious home made Ice cream. Birchfield farm is a mixed farm with dairy, pigs and sheep which you can see grazing in the fields.
As well as animals our land is used to grow strawberries, maize, pumpkins, sprouts and sweetcorn.

2. Brimham Rocks Adventure Farm
The farm is a wonderful place for all ages it’s a place to be able to get close to animals that you might never have touched or even seen before. The play area has a designated baby section, and the main frame is suitable for under 12’s and there is also a cafe but you are welcome to bring your own picnic.

3. Toft Gate Barn Farm & Café | Pateley Bridge
A working sheep farm with a delightful farm shop and cafe with views across Nidderdale. Toft Gate Barn is situated on the decent into Pateley Bridge and sign posted on the right hand side, just below Cold Stones Cut and perfectly situated for a well earned rest when cycling the Way of the Roses.
