Craft & Messy Play

Børn of the Forest is a classroom without walls where children learn from nature, within nature. Our sessions, based on the principles of the Forest School approach, allow children to learn about nature, the environment, their world and themselves through natural, open ended play, creation, exploration, and discovery.

Term time Monday 10-11.30, 1-2.30; Wednesday 10-11.30 and Thursday 10-11.30

Join us in our beautiful woodland setting designed for you and your child to connect with each other and nature while you stay and play together.

Each session will have some adult led element such as a story or craft activity but is really intended to be child led as our environment is set up for exploration and discovery…Cook up some muddy meals in our dirty diner, hunt for insects, watch out for wildlife in our birdhide, swing, build dens, chill in the hammocks, balance on our slackline… There really is so much to enjoy!

Come explore, create, experiment and experience the awe and wonder of nature at Børn of the Forest.

June half term Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 9.30-11. 11.30-1 and 1.30-3. All ages.

This session is similar to our pre-schooler session but opened up to all primary aged children for the school holidays.

Summer Holidays 2nd 3rd, 4th August 9-4pm.

A summer holiday club they’ll never forget! Join us for 3 days of forest school fun from 9am-4pm for children aged 5-11. Sessions are led by DBS checked, qualified and experienced staff and prices start from just £30 a day.

Forest school looks at each child individually to enable self-esteem, independence, and creativity to flourish in the fresh air. Our high adult to child ratios of 1:6 enables staff to work closely with your child to develop skills and concepts while still giving them the opportunity to play and build relationships with their peers.

We follow the children’s lead and free play and exploration is a big part of the day. We will also plan activities such as den/shelter building, fire lighting, outdoor cooking, team games, wood work, tool use, and nature-based craft giving each participant an opportunity to learn about and connect to the natural environment, problem solve, and enjoy being part of a team.

Come explore, create, experiment and experience the awe and wonder of nature at Børn of the Forest.

Fun, high energy and educational! Classes for 3 months – 4 year olds written by early years specialists and presented by a fully qualified, experienced primary teacher to introduce the world of letters and sounds to your little ones through play.

Each session is full of games, music, dance and much more to teach your children in exciting and interactive ways.

As well as an early introduction to the world of literacy we also help your little one develop their fine and gross motor skills, turn taking skills, speech, confidence and social skills.

Find the right class for your little one:

Babies Class (3 months – walking) An early introduction to the world of literacy through nursery rhymes using a multisensory approach. If you have had a baby in lockdown this class will be a lovely way to meet other mums in a safe, indoor environment.

Minis’ Class (age 1- 2 years) A great class to help develop your toddlers speech and language skills through songs, rhymes, role play whilst also introducing them to letters and sounds.

Preschool Class (age 3 – 4 years). My preschool classes are fun and energetic so your little ones won’t even realise they are learning.

We work on oral blending and segmenting to help with early sound recognition. We learn letter sounds and develop our fine and gross motor skills through dance and play.

These classes will give both you as parents and your children confidence in early Phonics before starting school.

Come along with your little one this Summer and find out for yourself!
