Discover why thereās no place like Ashville Acorns.
Join us for our new parent and baby group, a weekly opportunity for mums, dads and grandparents to socialise in a warm, secure, comfortable play space.
The Baby Acorns group will meet in the on-site āLittle Acornsā cabinĀ between 9.30am and 10.30am every Friday morning from 11 February 2022 in term-time.
The group will be run by Little Acorns staff, giving a taste of what our early years provision is like.
Little Acorns is part of Ashville Acorns Pre-Prep, the Collegeās exciting learning environment for children aged 2 to 5 to play, learn and thrive.
It also comprises Acorns for children aged 3 to 4, and Reception class for ages 4 to 5.
This area of the College is run by highly experienced early years practitioners and teachers, who follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
Details of the event:
ā An early years nurse will be present to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your babyās health, development, and wellbeing.Ā Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances it will not be possible for an early years nurse to be present at our Baby Acorns group. This is something we are still working towards being able to offer, but not for when we launch in February.
ā This is a perfect space for parents with babies, offering a safe, carpeted play area, and easy access for prams. Little Acorns is all on one level, with no steps.
ā Unfortunately, we wonāt be able to accommodate older siblings.
ā Admission will be free, and tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided. In the summer months the event may be held outdoors.
We look forward to welcoming you to this group.
Our much loved stay and play sessions will return to Toy Library HQ at The Old School in Knaresborough every Wednesday and Friday, 10am – 11.30am.
Sessions will be open to all and will run in a very similar way to our pre-covid play sessions – toys and resources will be set up for children to access while grown-ups can enjoy playing along and socialising with others! The only change that we need to make, for now, is that there will be no snack provided for children. You are very welcome to bring along your own snacks though (but please avoid nuts!)
Drinks will be available for grown ups but please bring your own reusable cup. Cups will not be provided so please donāt forget!!
Toilet and baby change facilities will be open – as always, please take nappies away with you to dispose of off site.
Sessions are Ā£3.50 plus 50p per additional child – we can only accept card payments (we have a snazzy new card machine!), we will no longer be accepting cash.
While face coverings are not compulsory, you are very welcome to wear one!
Parent and Baby Sessions
We are delighted to have been awarded some funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund (distributed by the National Lottery Community Fund) which has enabled us to provide sessions exclusively for parents with babies. Sessions will take place on Mondays at The Toy Library and will run from 9.30am – 10.30am. We hope to provide an opportunity for parents to socialise and share experiences plus some sensory exploration for the babies with a selection of our toys available to use. Parents will be served with a drink & biscuits and our staff will be around for chat and information.
There are a few safety precautions to have a read of before attendingā¦
Sanitiser will be available and we will require everyone to use it when entering the session.
Drinks will be served by our team, there will be no access to the kitchen facilities. You will need to bring your own mug or reusable cup for your drink though as we wonāt have access to any.
Unfortunately, this session is only open to pre-crawling babies and we canāt accommodate older siblings at this time.
Finally and most importantly, please do not attend if you or anyone in your household has displayed symptoms of Covid-19 in the past 14 days. We ask that you follow relevant Government adviceĀ on quarantining before attending.
Please book here.
