Saint Michael’s is the local charity that exists to help people live with terminal illness and bereavement. One in three local people are affected by the work that we do.
A new position has arisen for a Receptionist. In this role you will support the current Receptionist in managing and co-ordinating the reception desk ensuring the very highest standards of welcome and hosting for all visitors to the main Hospice buildings.
Duties will include answering the phone, transferring calls and taking messages, meeting and greeting visitors, administration, dealing with incoming & outbound post, keeping the reception area tidy, providing administrative support to the wider hospice team as well as training and developing a team of volunteers to support reception.
The role requires a very welcoming, sensitive and approachable personality heavily focused on customer service.
Applicants require good numeracy and IT skills (Word, Excel etc) and must be able to demonstrate organisational skills and team motivation, specifically to support a diverse group of volunteers with reception and other associated administrative duties.
It is essential that any applicants have experience in working with visitors and/or members of the general public, together with solid customer service and administrative experience.
The working pattern for this post is:
12 noon – 4.30 p.m. Wednesday, 8.30 a.m. – 4.30 p.m. Thursday & Friday
20 hours per week
