It is with great regret that the organisers of the Charity Bonfire, Harrogate Round Table have announced that the 2020 Stray Bonfire will not go ahead. Updated 12th September 2020

Harrogate’s 50th Anniversary Charity Stray Bonfire 2020 is now postponed until 2021 due to Coronavirus restrictions. The organisers of the Harrogate Charity Stray Bonfire have announced today that with huge regret, they have no choice but to postpone the 50th annual stray bonfire. The Stray Bonfire is an annual event organised entirely by volunteers from the Harrogate District Round Table.

The recent announcements from the government relating to gatherings of more than 6 people outdoors or indoors were the final “nail in the coffin” for this much-loved local community event. Read more in our full blog here.

See below for details of previous years events.

The Harrogate Round Table are organisers of the Harrogate Stray Charity Bonfire.  Being one of the few remaining bonfire events where an entry fee is not charged, Harrogate Round Table are reliant on the generosity of the public on the evening to donate as much as they can afford to this years supported charity.

They always ensure a warm family feel where everyone can watch the display in safety. You sense a real community spirit and it’s great to see so many families enjoying the event.

Unconfirmed Event Timings:
Stray FM Build Up from 6pm
Bonfire Lit – 6:30pm
Fireworks – 7ish pm

(All timings are approximate)

The bonfire is held on the Stray alongside Oatlands Drive, close to St. Aidans School. There is limited parking in the immediate vicinity so the area is likely to be highly congested.
