Head out to the North Yorkshire countryside between Harrogate and York for a romp through Beningbrough’s gardens looking for signs of nature waking up from its winter slumbers. Can you find the baby animals as you go? Pick up a new trail through the gardens for the holidays.

Easter weekend with Cadbury – Friday 19 – Monday 22 April 10.30am – 4pm
The popular Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt returns over the bank holiday weekend with a new trail to follow and a chocolatey treat for your efforts. The trail sheet costs £2 with each one getting a Cadbury chocolate prize.

Artrageous! – Easter weekend and Friday 26 April, 12 noon – 3pm in the Hayloft Room (access by stairs only)
Have a go at an Easter themed craft activity and once you’ve created your masterpiece, why not enter it into the competition for your chance to win a prize. The Easter Bunny will be making an appearance at 3pm to pick her favourite.

All activities are free of charge (except for the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt). Normal admission applies.

Starting 30th March 2019 – Sunday 28th April

With spring finally here we have lots of new life on the farm for you to meet . There will be baby lambs to bottle feed , new born calf’s , fluffy chicks for you to hold , visit the hatchery and see all the eggs in the incubators waiting to hatch and of course some very cute piglets !

The Easter egg trail will be held on Friday 19th, Saturday 20th April , Sunday 21st and Monday 22nd April . Easter bunny will be here to hand out your chocolate prize once you have completed the trail . The Easter egg hunt is optional and is an
extra £2.50 per person .

Usual admission of £2.50 for the farm still applies .

After a successful debut tour, Dear Zoo the timeless children’s classic book returns to the stage in 2019!

Rod Campbell’s best-selling lift the flap book has delighted generations of young readers since it was first published in 1982. And has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide.

This production will delight all those who have read the book (both young and old) as it unfolds with child-engaging puppets, music and lots of audience interaction.

Monday 1st April to Sunday 28th April

Hop along to Mother Shipton’s during the Easter Holidays for a hoppingly fun time. Follow the trail and on your way, help Little Bo Peep find her sheep! You can also meet bunnies Betty and Clover and solve puzzles and clues for a chocolatey treat.

See lots of little chicks and decorate an egg (small extra charge) in our Easter cabin.

The park will be transformed creating an engaging and interactive Easter event suitable for all the family. Every day from 1st to 28th April, open 10am to 5.30pm (last admission 4.30pm).

You will also see the famous Petrifying Well and Mother Shipton’s Cave. The park has several scenic picnic areas alongside the popular River Nidd, an adventure playground and gift shop and museum. For discounted tickets book online HERE.

The Anything Could Happen team return to Temple Newsam and put the children in charge for ‘giggles in the gallery’.  An improvised children’s show suitable for anyone over the age of 5.

Majestic Eggs Trail: 4th-19th April, 10:30am – 4pm

Find all of our majestical eggs hidden around the house and farm to be in with a chance of winning an eggcellent prize!

Farmyard Babies: 4th April – 19th April,  10am – 4pm

Come and meet the baby chicks, lambs, piglets and calves at Home Farm with special Meet the Farm weekends. Look out for further details posted on our social media pages.

Pumpkin Sowing: 8th April,  1-3pm

Meet at the Show House in the Walled Garden to sow your pumpkin seeds and come back in October to carve them just in time for Halloween.


Check out the new works from artist Catherine Bertola, in celebration of 500 years of Temple Newsam. Come to Temple Newsam to see how millions of grains of salt transformed the great hall!

With new egg-citing activities, cute baby animals and lots of family fun, there’s plenty to see and do this Easter at Piglets Adventure Farm.

From 30th March – 28th April 2019, little egg hunters can take part in the new Easter Egg Hunt. Bigger & better than ever before, collect eggs from hidden chicks around the farm to earn a special treat.

There’s also new Live Animal Shows from 30th March – 22nd April packed full of fluffy, fleecy & furry fun. From 18th – 28th April The Magic Hatter returns with comedy magic and Springtime silliness too!

Hop, skip and swing your way into a full day out for Easter 2019 at Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal.

Pick up the bird detective trail from the admissions team to discover about the life of a baby bird on this interactive family trail. Listen closely by the bird hide and see which birds you can hear singing away, find eggs from lots of different birds, add to a giant nest and discover all sorts of feathers as you follow the trail around the estate.


Hop along to Swanley Grange to make your very own lavender bag to keep your clothes smelling fresh and floral, just like the monks would have in medieval times. On select dates you can make a bird feeder to keep your fluttery friends well fed in your garden at home, too.




Come along for an action packed Easter weekend. Look out for signs of spring on the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt to win your chocolate prize. Search high and low for the elusive golden egg but shhhh, if you find it don’t tell anyone else! Let us know and you could win a behind the scenes tour as a prize. Bring your hardboiled egg and join in with the egg rolling competition on the abbey green. The fastest three eggs will win a prize from each age group so get boiling!


Zip your way through the play area on the zipline, swing as high as you can on the swings and spin round and round on the roundabout before indulging in a well earned cup of tea  in the new visitor centre restaurant.

Hop on down for a great garden adventure with The Rhyming Rabbit at RHS Garden Harlow Carr this Easter.

Keep your eyes peeled for the Rhyming Rabbit on a hop about the garden trail and enjoy craft activities based on the picture book by Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks and brought to you in association with Macmillan Children’s Books.

Activities vary daily. Normal garden admission.

Children can get their creative juices flowing and create rhymes for our Rhyming Tree, enjoy storytelling and rhymes with the Garden Detectives, make rabbit hand puppets and watch birds-of-prey demonstrations. Over the Easter weekend, there’s a chance to meet the Easter Bunny himself as well as real-life versions of some of the book’s best-loved animals. The Rhyming Rabbit Hop About Trail starts on 30 March.

Hunt the Golden Carrot Competition
A golden carrot has been hidden in the garden. Use clues to guess its whereabouts and post your entries in the competition post box for the chance to win a giant Centenary Imperial Easter Egg from Bettys worth almost £500 – that’s 5.8kg of Grand Cru Swiss Chocolate.

Create a rhyme and hang it on our Rhyming Tree in the Learning Centre.

Create a bunny plant pot and plant it up with bunny tail grasses. Take it home and watch it grow! Sessions from 11am–3pm in the Learning Centre.

Mercer Art Gallery

Newby opens for 2019 on Saturday 30th March and with the start of the opening season so close to Easter, Newby has sought inspiration from Lewis Carroll’s much-loved classic, Alice in Wonderland.

Throughout the school holidays there is an enchanting trail throughout the Woodland Walk and Gardens, where children will love solving the clues on the way to finding the Cheshire Cat! Every day throughout the holidays Alice will be placing a golden ‘flamingo egg’ within the gardens which will contain a family season ticket for anyone who finds one of the elusive eggs!

On Easter Sunday and Monday, the Queen of Hearts, Alice, The Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit courtesy of the magical Make a Wish Events will be on hand to help with solving the clues on the trail and to help explain the rules to Flamingo Croquet!

The fun continues as there is the legendary Adventure Playground to explore, miniature train to ride on, pedalo boats to (well, pedal!) and fountains to splash in! Not forgetting the Dollshouse and Teddy Bear Exhibitions to have a look in!

Harrogate school of swimming are doing Easter and Summer swimming and diving intensives.

Easter intensive dates are Tuesday 23rd- Friday 26th April 2019 between 9-11:30 at Harrogate Ladies college. Lessons are half an hour. 

We also do weekly term-time lessons, starting from 4 months old through to adult lessons.

The Bunnies are Back!

From the 13th to the 28th April 2019, Painting Pots Knaresborough presents ‘The Great Knaresborough Bunny Hunt’.

15 Ceramic bunnies will once again be exploring Knaresborough town centre. Can you find them?!

With an mini treat for each Bunny Hunter, and entry into a draw to win one of three goody baskets full with treats from all the businesses involved…. You’ll need to pick up your map by The Relentless Crafter for just £2, available from Painting Pots Knaresborough and The Black Mulberry.

All proceeds going to two amazing charities -Henshaws arts and crafts centre and Harrogate and Knaresborough Toy Library.

Last easter, over £1,200 was raised for two charities and hundreds of families got involved! With more bunnies and local independent businesses involved ….. this year promises to be just as good- let’s hope the weather is on our side. So, pull on those cotton tails and twitchy noses and come and join us!

Leeds Royal Armouries Museum

Ripon Spa gardens

Spa Gardens is a beautiful park right in the heart of Ripon. It’s been recognised for its high-quality maintenance and facilities and has been awarded Green Flag status.

In the centre of the park is a splendid Victorian bandstand, where band concerts take place on Sunday afternoons throughout the summer. For birdwatchers, carefully sited nesting boxes have encouraged many varieties to make a home in the gardens. There’s also a cafe serving home cooked food and cakes, and you can enjoy a round of crazy golf or try playing bowls.

The Spa Gardens are next to the swimming baths in Park Street, Ripon. HG4 2AX, and are open all year round. There’s limited on-street parking in Church Lane alongside Spa Park, opposite the entrance to Spa Gardens. The main entrance is easily accessible and there are disabled toilets in the gardens. The entrance from Skellbank is very steep with many steps.
