The pumpkin pretenders

The gardens are showing off the season’s best and with a few extra layers and sturdy footwear, it’s a great time to get into the gardens.

Keep your eyes peeled for pumpkins as you explore, look high and low and around corners – especially for some of the stranger shapes and sizes. There will be a few pumpkin pretenders in among the real deals, see if you can find them all.

Discover the wilderness play area
The biggest head to the seven-metre pyramid tower and slide, cantilever swing and clamber stack. Or discover the zone for smaller visitors to climb over and through or make home in the wendy house. If it’s a rustic den you’re after, grab some sticks and set to on the frames to build one.

We are so excited for this year and the pumpkins are looking amazing. We have grown lots more pumpkins and varieties from the small to the extra large, from white to warty!
NO BOOKING is required for this event and the pumpkin patch is free to enter if you are just picking pumpkins and the pumpkins are priced by size from £1 up to £12.
If you are wishing to enter the farm yard area this is charged at an extra charge of £5 per person . Inside the farm yard we have loads of activities

We are a Harrogate based studio offering arts & crafts for all ages and abilities.

Open: Wednesday to Friday 9.30am to 5.30pm, Saturday 10am to 5.30pm; we also serve hot and cold refreshments.

Due to covid you will be asked to sanitise your hands on entry and wear a mask until seated, we also ask you to only touch the things on your table. We sanitise everything between groups, we also ventilate our studio and limit our numbers so that we can allow for social distancing between groups.

Daily Arts & Craft Sessions – weekday Parent & Pre-school Sessions (c. 3+) Seasonal & themed art and craft activities every day last session starts and 4pm, from £3

Family Workshops – varies daily during school holidays, weekly during term time, from £7.50

A full day of Spooktacular adventure awaits at the Web Adventure Park!

A fun family day out at the park with some Halloween fun thrown in, perfect for all ages.
A giant pumpkin patch themed for our little ones to enjoy, pick your own pumpkin to take home (£3.00 extra while booking or on the day)
Halloween themed entertainment from the Amazing Dazzling Darren, with two magic shows and a family game show in our marquee!

There’s loads to explore this half term at Harewood!

Get ready for a fun family day out at Harrogate Indoor Funfair @ The Great Yorkshire Showground.

Sunday 24th to Sunday 31st October 2021. Morning sessions 10am-1pm, afternoon 2pm-5pm.

With jaw-dropping rides and amazing inflatables for all ages, Harrogate Indoor Funfair offers all the fun of the fair in an indoor, climate-controlled and family-friendly environment.

Spooky Skeletons Trail at Lotherton

23-31 October 2021

Visit Lotherton this October half term and follow the spooky skeletons trail around the estate and into the haunted house!

Dress up in your best Halloween costume and prepare to be scared as you explore the woods and seek out all of the skeletons who have made Lotherton their home.

A trail will be available to pick up when you visit, along with lots of autumnal and Halloween-inspired crafts.

Don’t miss the Nocturnal House in Wildlife World to see our bats in action!

Bring your little ones along for a great day out during the school holidays with plenty of spooky surprises along the way.

Are you ready to be bewitched at Mother Shipton’s this Halloween? You’re in for a treat!

It’s the Witching Hour, and deep in the spooky forest where a world-famous Prophetess was said to have been born during a terrifying thunderstorm, the spirits are flying high. You may hear the cackle of old souls wandering the ancient woodland or feel a shiver down your spine as you step into the Haunted Halloween Village.

Suitable for all ages, watch out for witches, ghosts, and creepy skeletons around every corner! There’s frightful fun to be had with photo opportunities and fancy dress competitions. Share your SPOOKTACULAR photos and inventive costumes with us on social media using the hashtag #mothershiptons to be in with the chance of winning PETRIFYING prizes and tickets awarded digitally.

See the incredible Petrifying Well as it turns items to stone as if by magic! Be SPELLBOUND as you make a wish in the Wicked Wishing Well, warm up with ghoulishly good refreshments and hot drinks served from our vintage style coffee kiosk and visit the Gift Shop for frighteningly fabulous souvenirs and gothic gifts. The park has scenic picnic areas alongside the popular River Nidd, an adventure playground, and a Museum featuring petrified celebrity items. Access to the adventure playground is subject to weather conditions.

The trees are dressed in their best reds and golds providing a beautiful backdrop for the water garden and abbey. It’s a little chilly now autumn has arrived but don’t let that stop you crunching through leaves and exploring the colourful landscape.

Come along to Spilmans family farm this Halloween 2021 and visit the famous PYO & Pumpkin Festival.

The Spilmans Festival is on a real authentic farm where you can pick your pumpkin from the field it was grown in – plus there are loads of other fun things to do to make this a very Autumnal, Halloween experience!


🎃 Pick and Carve your Pumpkins on site White ghost varieties plus lots of squashes and gourds as well as the traditional variety.
🌽 Corn Cannon – have some fun blasting cobs out of our corn cannon! Fire corn on the cob, at targets.
🚜 Tractor Rides – Hop on our trailer and hear all about our farm and what we grow. Drive past the pumpkin patch full of orange and white pumpkins.
🌾 Bale Mountain – Climb our huge straw mountain, right to the top. Catch a great view of our pumpkin patch and a sea of orange pumpkins!
🎡 Fairground Rides – In addition to the Pumpkin festival, there are some optional extra fairground rides to enjoy. (these are cash only and not included in the credit system)

Keep the children spellbound this October half term with a week of frightful fun!

The Halloween Adventure is spooky fun and never scary, so is suitable for even the smallest of monsters! Stockeld Park will be transformed for this year’s enchanting Halloween festivities!

There will be lots of spellbinding surprises in store in the Enchanted Forest, and little ones will love to explore our pumpkin patch, to pick their very own pumpkin to take home! Every paying child will get to choose a free pumpkin!

Spooky real live characters will be dotted around the park, making fantastic photo opportunities and enchanting interactions for the whole family to enjoy!

New for this year, skeletons have taken over Stockeld, with the skeleton trail! Will you spot them all? Make sure you don’t get trapped in the Hansels and Gretel’s jail! Try your luck in the graveyard golf – our brand new Halloween mini golf – undercover so you can play whatever the weather!

There’s something suitably scary for all ages, and for those who like to be truly frightened, will you dare to enter our haunted escape rooms!? Trapped inside The Basement or The Attic at one of the most haunted houses in Yorkshire, you and your team must use all your skills and knowledge to escape before your time runs out!

Get ready for some eerie chills and spooky thrills as York Dungeons is frightfully pleased to announce a Halloween city walking tour around the historically (in)famous city.

This family-friendly trick and treat walking tour takes in some of York’s most iconic sites, delving into all the frightful history of one of the UK’s most historic cities with the Dungeon’s dynamic duo Jester and Smedley.

The ghostly tour is the best way to enjoy 2000 years of York history in a welcoming environment, whilst meeting famous characters from York’s past. Visitors will be sure to laugh, and scream, as they experience surprises both petrifying and pleasant.
