Stump Cross Caverns is an ancient natural cave formation deep underneath the Yorkshire Dales. As well as the caves, they’ve also got a cinema, cafe, shop and visitor centre on site. They are located on the B6265 between Pateley Bridge and Grassington and open seven days a week (9am-6pm). Cave entry is £9 for adults and £6 for children (4-13yrs), which includes a fab cave quiz! Their much talked about cinema is £6 per person. They run special offers throughout the year – so check out their website for latest offers!
Discovered in 1860 by lead miners, Stump Cross Caverns has a rich history going back hundreds of millions of years. New passageways have been opened up over the years, with remains of prehistoric creatures such as wolverine and reindeer found in the caves.

There is also the fairy door trail. Explore the caves and find all the magical fairy doors to answer the cave quiz. Prizes for all!
The caves are a constant temperature of 7 degrees so dress warmly. Steps and walkways will be damp. Waterproof boots or wellies make ideal footwear for your visit.
