People across the country and the Commonwealth are invited to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort over a weekend of special events on 6–8 May.

The Big Coronation Celebration, Valley Gardens
To celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III, a three day party-in-the-park will take place in Valley Gardens, Harrogate from 6 to 8 May.
Families and friends can gather to mark this momentous event over the bank holiday weekend with a live stream of the Coronation ceremony on a big screen.
Along with a family-friendly entertainment by Rascals Entertainment, free fairground rides and an artisan market from Little Bird Made.
So bring your picnic blanket and settle in for the weekend of celebrations.
Harrogate BID is all set to host a fun-filled family celebration event to mark the coronation of King Charles III.
Taking place on the 6th and 7th of May at Harrogate’s DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa, in partnership with Your Harrogate, it is hoped the event will attract families and friends to come along, pitch up their picnic blankets and deckchairs, and enjoy the right ‘royal’ affair.
A stage and screen will be the focal point, where residents and visitors alike can watch the run up to the big day, and the coronation ceremony itself. Entertainment will also be on offer, including the chance to win prizes – as well as music from well-known local DJ Mark Green on the Sunday. It is free to attend, and food and drinks will be available to purchase from the hotel.
There is no need to register to do so, residents can just turn up on the 6th and 7th from midday. More details about the event timings will be announced when we know more about the official ceremonial timings.

Classic Car & Motorcycle Show at Thorp Perrow Arboretum on Coronation Bank Holiday Monday.
In a new venture for Thorp Perrow, we’re working in partnership with Classic Shows (regular organiser of large car shows at Scampston Hall, Castle Howard and Blenheim Palace, amongst others), to host a huge classic, vintage and modern classic car and motorcycle show at Thorp Perrow on Monday 8th May 2023.
It promises to be a fabulous family day out with entertainment, retail stalls, food outlets and competitions on the concours – and all for the usual Thorp Perrow Arboretum entrance price and with full access to the Arboretum and Bird of Prey and Mammal Centre – so visitors get 2 amazing day-out experiences for the price of 1!
