What a fun evening the hubby and I had at the Turkish Baths re-launch party last week! After being closed for refurbishment for the last ten weeks, the Baths are now open and better than ever!
The first thing that struck me when entering the building was how light and spacious the reception area was. The space has a real high-end spa feel to the place! There’s a fab little area to grab a coffee and pick up some lush products – I loved the NEOM tranquillity body oil!
The Baths themselves haven’t changed much since 1897, there’s even an original toilet still plumbed in! They have added to the changing area – making it less cramped and more relaxing for visitors. They have one plunge pool, a steam room, and several relaxation areas – all-differing in temperatures – one reaching a scorching 70 degrees! The Turkish bath ritual is a journey of heating, cooling and cleansing the body, which promotes a sense of relaxation and a clear mind!
As part of the refurbishment – which I must say was done so sympathetically – was the addition of a traditional Turkish Hammam treatment room and the spa room – with relaxing foot spa and spa pool! I was lucky enough to sample some of the signature treatments – including a Himalayan salt massage and a lovely hand and arm massage. A big Mumbler ten out of ten for the treatments – given by the wonderful, highly trained therapists!
As I said – you’d be fooled into thinking this was a high-end spa – the only thing that will stop you thinking that are the prices! You can enjoy the Turkish Bath Experience from as little as £18.00 per person. You can even hire the Baths out for exclusive use – it would be a great place for a hen do or Mummy get away! The Baths are open every day until 8.30pm – so even the busiest of us Mumblers should be able to find a suitable time for some well earned pampering.
With its beautiful renovation, great treatments, reasonable price list and central location this is a must to visit if you’re here for the weekend. Or if like me, you’re lucky enough to live in this gorgeous little town – it’s a must to visit every weekend, or at least every other one!
