Saint Michael’s is the local charity that exists to help people live with terminal illness and bereavement. One in three local people are affected by the work that we do.
Saint Michael’s is developing a Volunteer Support team which will bring together the existing dedicated resources for supporting volunteering into one team. As part of this team the Volunteer Coordinator will contribute to a volunteering plan for the organisation underpinning the organisation’s strategic aims, recruiting and inducting volunteers, developing new roles as needed, supporting line managers to manage volunteers, maintaining volunteer information, providing statistics on volunteering activity and contribution to the organization.
With a background in HR, candidates will also need skills in analysing information and situations, planning and organising, interviewing and assessment and teaching and mentoring.
Candidates will need to be flexible in their attitude, with strong collaborative working skills, and tact and diplomacy to deal with a variety of situations.
