Salary: £18,400 (£23,000 FTE)

Saint Michael’s is the local charity that exists to help people live with terminal illness and bereavement. One in three local people are affected by the work that we do.
Saint Michael’s is developing a Volunteer Support team which will bring together the existing dedicated resources for supporting volunteering into one team. This role will lead and manage the team, developing a volunteering plan for the organisation, managing volunteer vacancies and recruitment, supporting line managers to manage volunteers, managing volunteer information, providing statistics and reports on volunteering activity and contribution to the organisation.
With a strong background in HR and experience of managing a team, candidates will also need skills in analysing information and situations, planning and organising, interviewing and assessment and teaching and mentoring. An understanding of strategy, budget management and volunteering will be an essential foundation for this role.
Candidates will need to be flexible in their attitude, with strong collaborative working skills, and tact and diplomacy to deal with a variety of situations.
