Harrogate Film Festival – ASIFA SOUND EFFECTS WORKSHOP

March 14, 2020

Create the soundtrack to our culinary ASIFA Animated Film and discover the secrets of sound effects. In this fun-filled workshop you’ll discover how to make a soundtrack using everything but the kitchen sink in our improvised SFX studio led by musician Dave Dunn-Birch. You don’t need any musical knowledge, just imagination and the enjoyment in making noise!

This year’s theme is ‘Cooking – Food from your Country’ and we’re going to make a 2-minute drawn animated sequence. We can bring together the very best of Harrogate’s fine cuisine to show the nation’s food!

Then gather your family and friends for a big screening at Harrogate Film Festival!

The film then goes to Belgium for assembly into the compilation film. The premiere takes place in Lisbon and we will have travel packages to go!

ASIFA (Association Internationale du Film d’Animation) was established in 1960 in Annecy, France devoted to cultivating and promoting the art, craft and profession of Animation. Each year, children around the world, in 23 countries and on 4 continents create animations based on a common theme and this year Harrogate Film Festival is taking part. The ASIFA Workshops Group (AWG) is a group of artist-teachers who believe that animation can help children express their creativity and tell their own stories.
