Horrified by the amount of bad (and downright damaging!) skincare advice given to teenagers by so-called “beauty Ā influencers” on TikTok & Snapchat these days, Debbie wants to ensure that the kids are getting correct advice and are using products that are actually safe for teenage skin.
“According to the British Association for Dermatologists āThere is a growing trend of children as young as eight using skincare products could leave them with irreversible skin problemsā
Some children are asking their parents for luxury items after seeing them used by their favourite influencers on platforms such as YouTube and TikTok. Many of these contain potentially harmful active ingredients intended for adults only, such as exfoliating acids and anti aging properties which can provoke serious side effects on young skin.
This event is to help educate parents and children on the Science of skincare and investigate what ingredients are in their skin care products and discuss appropriate ingredients that will help tackle skin concerns for younger, more sensitive skin.
When it comes to childrenās skincare, itās essential to approach it with caution and prioritise safety. Childrenās skin tends to be more delicate and sensitive compared to adults, so using gentle products specifically formulated for their age group is crucial.
