Elodie and I went on adventure this morning to The Little Gym Harrogate.
I gave myself extra time to find The Little Gym Harrogate as I’m rubbish at finding places and when I looked up The Little Gym Harrogate – I could see it was tucked away at Cardale Park. But I didn’t need to it was so well signed posted with loads of extra arrows and signs for people like me who get lost regularly. We ended up getting there 10 minutes early, And was greeted by the lovely Maddie. I was offered a complimentary coffee, always helpful after a rough night sleep, and there was a great waiting area with load of toys for Elodie to play with.
The class started with a lovely welcome song with  bells and rattles that Elodie got very into. Climbing her way into the middle of the circle to join in. Then there was a getting to know you exercise which was a great ice breaker as we didn’t know anyone in the class being the newbies. Elodie was so pleased to meet so many new friends.
Elodie was so excited to get exploring she couldn’t wait until the end of circle time before she was off. There were so many things for her to explore and try. It was an energetic babies dream. Climbing over obstacles and swinging from the bars she had a blast crawling at the speed of light around it all.
I could barely peel her away to have a go on the bouncy run. As well as classic bounce time Maddie had these little ones testing their future gymnastics skills with backward rolls. Maddie could see I was a bit apprehensive so she was great at helping me support Elodie to do the moves.
Elodie also got to have a go on the balance beam with Maddie. She was fantastic at making Elodie at ease. I can see how the support from the teachers with the moves make all the difference. Most of the little ones in the class were the same age as Elodie and most were walking.
The class ended with more songs and spinning for the little ones on grow ups shoulders while bubbles were in the air. Which made all the little ones very happy. By the end of the class I don’t know who was more tired, me or Elodie.
I loved how at the end of the class lots of the parents stayed in the waiting area and gave their little ones lunch or had another coffee. I could see it would be a great place to meet new friends for parents as well as the babies. The Little Gym Harrogate have free trail lessons all April if you also want to give this class a try. We loved it!
