Last weekend I took my son and his friend (both aged 11) along to enjoy the Wizard Walk of York!
Whilst aimed at 5-10 year olds I knew the magic and Harry Potter connections would intrigue him! The Wizard meets you at the bottom of The Shambles at the time you’ve booked and then whisks you all around the corner to a quieter location so he can properly introduce himself, the wizard tour and he immediately puts all the children at ease with a few silly jokes!
At the point of booking you have the option (for an extra charge) to order a Wand Kit (including a wand and several magic tricks to perfect) and these are handed out at the beginning so you can join in with a little magic along the tour..
The tour then heads off winding around the streets and alleyways of York stopping off every so often on the search for 7 creatures. At each stop the wizard entertains the audience with some fabulous magic tricks, silly jokes and audience participation!
The tour lasts about an hour and the distance covered and stop offs worked really well for the little and old ones alike! The tour centres around The Shambles, Low Petergate and works its way up to the stunning York Minster!
The wizard kept the attention of my two boys throughout the whole hour and they were even practicing a few magic tricks to show the wizard at the end of the tour!
While aimed at a younger audience, rest assured the wizard would keep older siblings engaged for the hour and his friendly, funny approach even gets the adults giggling along as well!
Overall a great walking tour for your little wizards to enjoy around the stunning city of York! Book your tour now!
Children aged 3+ need their own ticket, babies in pushchairs are welcome at no charge. Prices are currently £9 for adults and £9 for children. Optional Wizard Wand Kits are available for £5 each, subject to availability.

Disclosure: We were gifted this tour and wand kits, however we pinky promised to only write a truthful account. Phew, we really enjoyed it! (otherwise that could have been awks!)
