We were very lucky to join Kate in her Buddy Beats class for children who are walking and up to pre school age. This class is also suitable for siblings too. This is a really lively class with none stop music and activities throughout. We received a lovely warm welcome from Kate , who is a trained primary school teacher and has great rapport with the children and parents alike.
The class begin with the welcome song waking up all of our muscles. Every week there is a different theme and this week was all about life at the pond. We experienced ducks, frogs, fish and of course lots of bubbles. We also met Max the monkey. Trilli really enjoyed feeding him bananas and working with the other children to fill the banana tree with fruit.
There was all sorts of equipment for the children to play with with the fishing game being a really favourite. So many amazing little people all focused and fishing together.
We finished the session with a wind down song and the children loved the cat lights which changed colour. Kate uses makaton signing throughout the class. Each half term the children learn a song with signing so that by the end of the few weeks they are familiar with not only the words but the signing too. Today was a personal favourite of Trilli’s – Incy Windy Spider.
