Term time Monday 10-11.30, 1-2.30; Wednesday 10-11.30 and Thursday 10-11.30
Join us in our beautiful woodland setting designed for you and your child to connect with each other and nature while you stay and play together.
Each session will have some adult led element such as a story or craft activity but is really intended to be child led as our environment is set up for exploration and discovery…Cook up some muddy meals in our dirty diner, hunt for insects, watch out for wildlife in our birdhide, swing, build dens, chill in the hammocks, balance on our slackline… There really is so much to enjoy!
Come explore, create, experiment and experience the awe and wonder of nature at Børn of the Forest.
June half term Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 9.30-11. 11.30-1 and 1.30-3. All ages.
This session is similar to our pre-schooler session but opened up to all primary aged children for the school holidays.
Summer Holidays 2nd 3rd, 4th August 9-4pm.
A summer holiday club they’ll never forget! Join us for 3 days of forest school fun from 9am-4pm for children aged 5-11. Sessions are led by DBS checked, qualified and experienced staff and prices start from just £30 a day.
Forest school looks at each child individually to enable self-esteem, independence, and creativity to flourish in the fresh air. Our high adult to child ratios of 1:6 enables staff to work closely with your child to develop skills and concepts while still giving them the opportunity to play and build relationships with their peers.
We follow the children’s lead and free play and exploration is a big part of the day. We will also plan activities such as den/shelter building, fire lighting, outdoor cooking, team games, wood work, tool use, and nature-based craft giving each participant an opportunity to learn about and connect to the natural environment, problem solve, and enjoy being part of a team.

Our much loved stay and play sessions will return to Toy Library HQ at The Old School in Knaresborough every Friday, 10am – 11.30am.
Sessions will be open to all and will run in a very similar way to our pre-covid play sessions – toys and resources will be set up for children to access while grown-ups can enjoy playing along and socialising with others! The only change that we need to make, for now, is that there will be no snack provided for children. You are very welcome to bring along your own snacks though (but please avoid nuts!)
Drinks will be available for grown ups but please bring your own reusable cup. Cups will not be provided so please don’t forget!!
Toilet and baby change facilities will be open – as always, please take nappies away with you to dispose of off site.
Sessions are £3.50 plus 50p per additional child – we can only accept card payments (we have a snazzy new card machine!), we will no longer be accepting cash.
While face coverings are not compulsory, you are very welcome to wear one!
Parent and Baby Sessions
We are delighted to have been awarded some funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund (distributed by the National Lottery Community Fund) which has enabled us to provide sessions exclusively for parents with babies. Sessions will take place on Mondays at The Toy Library and will run from 9.30am – 10.30am. We hope to provide an opportunity for parents to socialise and share experiences plus some sensory exploration for the babies with a selection of our toys available to use. Parents will be served with a drink & biscuits and our staff will be around for chat and information.
There are a few safety precautions to have a read of before attending…
Sanitiser will be available and we will require everyone to use it when entering the session.
Drinks will be served by our team, there will be no access to the kitchen facilities. You will need to bring your own mug or reusable cup for your drink though as we won’t have access to any.
Unfortunately, this session is only open to pre-crawling babies and we can’t accommodate older siblings at this time.
Finally and most importantly, please do not attend if you or anyone in your household has displayed symptoms of Covid-19 in the past 14 days. We ask that you follow relevant Government advice on quarantining before attending.
