This February half-term is all about mindfulness at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal.
How do you enjoy nature? Do you look for the stillness and quiet? Or are you a little one who likes to be noisy for nature. Cracking frosty puddles, racing through open spaces or hiding behind trees?
Whatever way you engage with the world around you, one thing is for sure – Spring is on the horizon and this 600 acre site is bursting with new life beginning once again.
This half-term you can get crafting and make a hanging bird decoration to take home. There are quiet crafting sessions daily between 2-3pm for those who might find quiet crafting a better experience. Join in with a mindfulness trail around the abbey and water gardens. Grab a sheet from admissions and follow the map to help you on your adventure in nature, completing activities as you go.
On 12 February you can also join in with some free family workshops. Start with a guided family walk, collecting natural treasures on your way before getting cosy and crafting with your finds at Swanley Grange.
As always, there’s plenty of things to discover here at Fountains – why not try a walk on the high-ride this to find some of the best views. Dash through the deep-dark serpentine tunnel and whiz along the zip-line in the adventure playground.
