22nd – 30th October 2022 – there’s lots of spooky fun waiting to be had!
Head to Stockeld Park this October half term and experience all the magical Halloween themed fun on offer.
The Enchanted Forest will be transformed into an explosion of colour for the Day of the Dead celebration! You can pick the perfect pumpkin from our pumpkin field, every paying child gets a free pumpkin! The Playhive will be open to explore and you can see the family-friendly Monster Mash show!
Monsterific!” “Fangtastic” “Spooktacular!” Just a few words used by our mini monsters to describe our Halloween day out at Stockeld Park. Having loved our birthday trip for Bran in the summer we were very excited to see what our autumn visit would bring and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
First stop was The Hive which is just incredible and offered something for all of the Hayes clan from the youngest Miss T (19 months) to the oldest daddy Hayes (42). The Helter Skelter slide is super fast and super fun and there are so many vehicles to explore from the submarine to the helicopter and plane. My favourite was the mini spaceship and I loved sending my face up into space using the fun photo machine. If your children love a slide then you must visit the hive as there’s a different one wherever you look.
Next up we visited the pumpkin patch especially for Half-term. The decorations are fantastic loads of great photo opportunities. There’s a pumpkin with every child’s ticket so be sure to collect yours.
We loved the Day of the Dead themed Enchanted Forest. The characters really make it and we stopped and had a chat with each one. Our favourite was the witch although we made a sharp exit when she suggested we climb into her cooking pot!
We took a picnic with us and there are plenty of places to eat your packed lunch both inside and out. There are a range if food options though if you want to purchase lunch there from pizza down in the new hive cafe to a fab smelling food van. We did take advantage of a pit stop for hot choc and cakes. The rocky road is absolutely delicious!
Last up was the maze for us and the challenge of finding 10 friendly monsters. The kids love going off and trying to find their own way around. The raised platforms are super helpful to keep a look out and we loved the different areas with voices and musical instruments to try.
All in all our four little pumpkins had a smashing day out! We can’t wait to see what Christmas will bring when we return in December!
