Winter always seems to last a lifetime, but as soon as those hopeful rays of sun start shining through the clouds, our pets know exactly what time it is. Spring!
With each season comes an abundance of checklists, preparations and pet hazards. Just like in autumn, winter or summer, spring is also another time of year for you to get your furry friend ready for the season ahead.
Spring Hazards
Spring is known for the flowering of various buds, and while we may bask in the glory of some fresh daffodils, lots of flowers are hazardous to our pets.
Symptoms to look out for if you think your dog might’ve eaten something they shouldn’t have, include; vomiting, diarrhoea, difficulty breathing, salivation, weakness and more.

Spring Allergies
Spring marks the beginning of hay fever season. Which means the start of runny noses, itchy eyes and general distress from pollen. But did you know doggy hay fever exists?
Dogs can’t tell you that they think they might have hay fever, hence why you need to look out for the signs. These can include watering eyes, runny noses and sneezing, itching and scratching and rashes on their face or feet.
Spring Cleaning
Now comes the time when we start to clear out and clean our homes after hibernating for the winter months. If you’re spending lots of time tidying and freshening up, why not give your pet a spring clean too?
A good brush, a bath and shampoo, nails clipped – whatever your pet is comfortable with!

As well as the various dangers to be aware of during springtime, there are still plenty of opportunities to have some new adventures with your pet!
