It’s time for Music and Lights. As twilight falls see the abbey aglow with all the colours of the rainbow. Walk beneath the cellarium’s vaulted ceilings, under the grand columns of the nave and stop to watch the live choirs and bands fill the ruins with festive music. Join in if you know the tune!
Music and Lights is happening every Saturday and Sunday, 2pm-5pm, from 25 November – 31 December (excluding 3 and 10 Dec). Bands and choirs will play in the abbey cellarium from 2-3pm.
Looking to get close to nature? Come along to our On the Hoof event on Saturday 2, Saturday 9 and Saturday 22 December from 11am-12pm. Watch the wild deer munching through their winter feed and see if you can tell the difference between the Red, Sika and Fallow deer. Chat to our rangers who’ll be on hand to answer your questions.
As always, there’s plenty of things to discover here at Fountains Abbey – why not try a walk on the high-ride to find some of the best views. Dash through the deep-dark serpentine tunnel and whiz along the zip-line in the adventure playground.
