What An Event are delighted to announce the launch of What A Movie, bringing THE Drive In Movie experience of the Summer to Harrogate and Ripon.
Our Drive In Movies will provide a Covid-Safe environment where attendees will be able to enjoy a shared experience whilst still following Government guidelines on social distancing.
With mental health issues due to the lockdown being prevalent, this is a chance for families and couples to get out and do something different and fun whilst the lockdown is slowly being lifted, escape a bit and leave with a smile on their face.
We have 2 initial venues. We are working with The Pavilions of Harrogate to put on movies at The Great Yorkshire Showground, with a stunning backdrop of the open countryside across to the viaduct and towards Rudding Park, for the first 2 days of screenings on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July 2020.
The following weekend on 18th and 19th July we will be at Ripon Racecourse which is another great venue in attractive surroundings. More dates will be announced.
There will be 3 showings a day, including family favourite the 2019 Disney remake of Dumbo, feel good sing-along greats Rocket Man, and Grease, the classic Mamma Mia Here We Go Again, the 2020 live action remake of Dolittle, and the all time 80s cult classic Ferris Buellers Day Off! We can guarantee there will be something for everyone, and as it’s a Drive-In it won’t be affected by our unreliable British weather. Films will be shown on high quality LED screens, with sound transmitted direct to your car radio.
Everything will be contactless and properly marshalled to ensure the safety of guests. Tickets will be scanned through car windows, and parking will be marshalled to allow for Government Guidelines on social distancing.
The films will be played on a high quality LED screen, and sound is played through car radios by tuning in to a specific FM frequency.
Food and snacks will be available to order on site and will be delivered to your car. Toilets will be available with hand gel stations and will be disinfected at regular intervals. Social distancing will be in place at all times and our staff will use appropriate PPE for their task/s.
