Enchantica’s Workshop is a creativity and well-being studio on the south side of Harrogate that offers workshops and classes to help children, adults and families shine bright.
Director Suzie Vaughan, educational theatre and well-being specialist, has been making magic for families to enjoy for over two decades.
‘I am always being asked to offer more well-being classes for children and families and we are delighted to be launching a NEW summer term programme to support families in our community.’
Sessions include Suzie Beats singalong well-being adventures for 0–3 year olds and their grown-ups, Rising Stars well-being adventure classes for ages 3-7 years (ages 7+ coming soon), plus NEW for the 2024 summer program, Creative Dance & Musical Theatre classes for ages 3-11 years.
20% off Creative Dance / Musical Theatre classes:
To celebrate the launch of their new Creative Dance and Musical Theatre classes, Enchantica’s are also offering 20% off bookings for these on the April / May upcoming term.
Suzie explains: ‘We have added Creative Dance and Musical Theatre to the program as music and dance play a wonderful role in supporting well-being for all ages. Music is proven to help children find ways to cope with mental health and our Dance and Musical Theatre classes help children to bring their ideas to life and enjoy embracing full expression through movement.’
Statistics state that 1-6 children between age 5-16 are likely to have a mental health problem and the most common mental health problems among young people are emotional disorders including anxiety and depression. Mental health and children’s well-being are hot topics of discussion and the case for teaching preventative skills to children is clearly there. But is it really happening?
Suzie believes that ‘one of the best things you can do to support your child’s well-being is to weave regular well-being activities into your week. Here at Enchantica’s we support you in doing just that. We design our holistic inspired classes to give children confidence, happiness superpowers and tools for life so that they can live their best lives.
My passion for educational theatre was fired up during my drama school training where I got to work with the Creative Arts Team at New York University and explore all the programs they had to offer. I loved how theatre could bring learning to life and how I could channel my skills and passions as an actress into creating content that made a difference.
I now specialise in translating learning objectives into engaging content for children and families to enjoy. Integrating well-being practices such as yoga, meditation and mindfulness into engaging theatrical content that benefits children and families is one of my biggest passions.’
Enchantica’s are also supporting local primary schools, including Oatlands Infants and St Peters, with afterschool classes and educational workshops, and welcome enquiries from other local schools.
Parent Charlotte says: ‘I cannot recommend Suzie and Rising Stars enough. My son started Rising Stars this term with Oatlands Infant School and the benefits shine through every time he comes out. He is someone who has always been a sensitive soul who worries, but after his class he comes out calm and positive. He has even started to use his breathing exercises at home when he gets in a muddle.’
