Seriously, what a year it’s been! Teachers have certainly earned their end of year gifts this year haven’t they? And a well earned rest, and pay rise in my opinion! If we didn’t appreciate how hard these absolute angels work before – we certainly do now! Home schooling nearly sent many of us over the edge this year! We’ve come up with a few ideas for some lovely gifts for teachers this year, and given most of us played the teacher role for some of the year (albeit very badly in my case), then I think it’s totally acceptable to buy ourselves a gift too!
Firstly we are big advocates of the group presents, and after talking to a few teacher friends so are they! A few pounds from each parents can go a long way! Gift vouchers seem to be a really good shout – especially if you are clubbing in and so have a bit more to spend! I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love a cheeky Marks and Spencers gift voucher – and given there is one in town, it’ll be easy to spend!
Talking of vouchers – how about vouchers for the brilliant Turkish Baths. It’s one of my go to places if I want a bit of pampering – or to chill out! The Turkish Baths experience can be booked for as little as £19. It truly is a unique relaxation regime to experience in Britain’s most fully restored Victorian Turkish Baths.
The team at Turkish Baths Harrogate are excited to welcome everyone back again. They’ve been busy behind the closed doors bringing the intricate internal décor back to life again to surround you in stunning vibrant colours across the rare Moorish design, Islamic arches and arabesque ceilings. It’s the perfect place to start the serious business of relaxing – resting first in the elegant relaxation room, then gradually working your way up three heated chambers that range from 40C up to 70C. After the heat immerse yourself into the cold plunge pool to help improve circulation and flush out toxins.
If you have more time to unwind stay a while longer and enjoy a luxurious spa treatment, indulgent therapy or re-energising express treatment. All the staff are ready to welcome you and keep you safe throughout your visit.
As places are limited please ensure you book in advance at www.turkishbathsharrogate.co.uk or phone 01423 556746.
One of my friends, who is a parent and a teacher so I figure she’s the oracle in knowing what the perfect gift should be, always gets the teachers and TAs a gift voucher for the nearest cafe/bakery to her child’s school. A £5/£10 voucher with a little note to say have a cake and coffee on us! A brilliant way to support local businesses and for teachers to have a little treat (and much needed coffee) on their way to/from work!
Erin and Peony is a new wreath and dried flower business set up by a local Mum.
