Run down paths, jump in crunchy leaves and take a deep breath of fresh air at Fountains Abbey this October half-term.
You can grab a free sensory trail from any admissions point and follow the instructions. What can you see? What sounds can you hear? Do you think that stone will be rough or smooth?
Every day from 11am-3pm head to Swanley Grange near the big adventure playground to take part in some fun autumn crafts too.
No need to book – just come along and have fun!
Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal is open 7 days a week from 10am-4:30pm.
In 2022 we’re celebrating 90 years of floodlighting the abbey ruins. This special event is open to members and non-members of the National Trust and everyone will need to book a ticket to attend.
Wander through glowing ruins, under shadowed archways and hear haunting choral music ringing through the cellarium this autumn. Join us every Saturday in October and Friday 21 & 28 to have an after-dark experience you won’t forget.
Watch as the night sky falls over the abbey and ruins start to glow with light.
Grab a torch and chase your shadows as you experience the abbey like never before. Between 7pm-8pm join us in the cellarium as the voices of choirs ring through the ruin as darkness falls.
You’ll need to pre-book a ticket for this event this year even if you’re a National Trust member. Spaces are limited so we recommend booking early as we’d hate to disappoint anyone and once they’re gone – they’re gone.
