The Government has confirmed the date that GCSE and A-level results will be released.
The Department for Education (DfE) said A-level pupils will get their results August 13 and GCSE students will be given their grades on August 20. These were the pre-planned results day.
The DfE announced last month that teachers will be asked to submit judgements on the grades their students were likely to receive to exam boards. They will be asked to consider mock examination results as well as performance in non-exam assessments. The exam boards will then look at other relevant data, including prior attainment, and produce a calculated grade for each student.
Students will be able to sit exams at the earliest opportunity in the new academic year, as well as in summer 2021. If they decide to do this, both grades will stand.
