The countdown is officially on – less than two weeks till the big day, so if you haven’t already its time to get your shop on! We love nothing more than supporting our local independent community and this year is no different. So where you can, please shop locally!
Open earlier this year, Tiger Fifty7 is a fab addition to the array of shops on Cold Bath Road. A great place to get kids presents from, from little stocking to larger gorgeous gifts. We’re a regular visit here and what I really like is downstairs they have a little play area for kids. So if like me, you’ve not got time to shop without your little ones then the play area is a great distraction whilst you buy all those presents from Santa!
Another shop for the little ones – after all Christmas is all about them isn’t it?! Little Darlings opened earlier this year too. It’s an independent, family run baby and children’s boutique. They stock a fab selection of gifts, clothing and accessories for children from newborn to 10 years. Their shop is located on Church Avenue, just on the outskirts of Harrogate town centre but you can also order online. Their range of kids Christmas jumpers are adorable, and really reasonably priced too!
Situated in Westminster Arcade on Parliament Street. If you are looking for a good book to read or a present for someone then you need to head to the hidden gem of a bookshop called Imagined Things Bookshop. It is full of amazing gifts and brilliant recommendations for books that you had never thought about reading before. I’m definitely heading here to get my bookworm husband something for Christmas!
This is a favourite of our Communities Champion Evie! The Giftery is located on the ever popular Kings Road. It’s an amazing shop full of lovely unique gifts for everyone. If you have somebody who is hard to buy for, this is the shop you need to visit! They have a brilliant selection of cards too.
Also on the Kings Road is a great little independent beer shop which opened earlier this year. They sell pretty much any type of beer you can thing of! I’ve already got my brother a crate of some pretty unusual sounding IPAs and hubby will be getting a few cans for his stocking. They also have a few beers on tap – and a little seating area, ideal if you need a little break from all the shopping!
H2K owner and local Harrogate mum Hazel Barry has built up a beauty business with global appeal. There is a wide choice of products and gifts for both him and her. Inspired by our beautiful spa town of Harrogate every H2k product is utterly unique and reflects the purity and vitality that has made our home town synonymous with health and beauty for centuries. Since I moved up here two years ago, I’ve been getting my Mum a gift from here every Christmas and she loves it!
Another favourite shop of mine, found in the beautiful Montpellier Mews. This place is crammed full of lovely unique gifts for him or her. It’s a British lifestyle and gift store that supports, showcases and nurtures the very best of great British craftsmanship, design, artistic flair and the nation’s entrepreneurial spirit. We love the Little Button Company range – especially the Yorkshire born & bread cushions. Last time I was in there they had some gorgeous little Maps of Harrogate prints which is now on the top of my Christmas list!
