We love visiting Stockeld Park during the school holidays and now you can adventure even more often!!! It’s open every weekend between now and the 18th July before re-opening for their Summer Adventures on 24th July!!!
If you haven’t been before to Stockeld Park, it’s a vast multi-adventure playground with loads of different activities to keep the whole family entertained!! It’s pure adventure FUN and for Weekend Adventures you have the added bonus of the Big Bubble Show which was amazing!!
We always start a visit to Stockeld Park with a race through the maze, climbing up the wooden castle to make sure we’re heading the right way and finding the centre of the maze with the globe sculpture telling interesting facts!! There’s now a few directional signs to ensure there’s one way traffic around the maze – they’re up high so it doesn’t spoil the fun for the kids!!
The large field just down from the cafe is perfect for picnics and allows children to play in the tractor playground (actually called Farmer Foster’s Barnyard), speed round the track on the pedal go karts or have a slide, race or bouncy on the inflatables without being too far away from their grownups! It was also on this field where the Big Bubble Show happened and the kids loved chasing and popping the bubbles … I’ve never seen so many bubbles produced from a net before!!!
My little boy was having such a good time with the bubbles and inflatable assault course that we had to remind him we still had lots to do … The Enchanted Forest with the adventure playgrounds built between the woodland trail!! This is my favourite part of Stockeld. It’s adventure play area after play area with slides, rope nets & play equipment based on children’s favourite stories, musical sculptures … the list goes on and the attention to detail and quality of the equipment is exceptional!! As you walk between the playgrounds keep an eye out for the animals hidings in the trees, the fairies playing by the stream or the dragon hiding in the woods – you’ll be taken on a magical adventure!!
One of the playgrounds didn’t have many children on the nets so I had a go too – it was harder than I thought it was going to be but I had great fun and my son seemed pretty impressed!!
And Stockeld Park is soon to become even bigger and better as they’re building a huge indoor adventure area. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s going on … we’re really excited for this huge addition!!
I can’t recommend Stockeld Park enough if you have children who love the outdoors, playgrounds and climbing … and remember big kids can join in too!!

Disclaimer – we received entry into Stockeld Park in return for an honest review of their new Weekend Adventures. It was amazing to be back (we last visited just before lockdown 1 in February 2019) and we still love every part of it!!
