What can I expect at Stardust classes?
At Stardust, your little stars will be developing a wide range of theatre skills and social skills, developing their confidence, building their self-esteem and making new friendships.
Through drama and imaginative play, movement and song, we will be going on exciting adventures, exploring a range of imaginary worlds and ‘real world’ situations in a fun and safe environment.
Each class will be based on a different national event or special day, including ‘World Book Day’ in which we will be ‘Going on a Bear Hunt’, and ‘World Maths Day’ where we will be working on our numeracy skills and becoming aliens in our flying saucers! TaDa the Star will accompany us on each adventure and will become a familiar face for the children.
Our high energy and fast paced ‘Shooting Stars’ classes will be perfect for all boys and girls aged 2-3 and our ‘Shining Stars’ classes are designed for 3-4 year olds. Every activity we do is linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, helping the children to learn and develop in each of the areas of learning.
During our 40 minute classes, your little stars will:
– learn to express themselves clearly
– develop strong social skills
– build self-confidence
– develop teamwork and cooperation skills
– flourish in their performance skills
– develop their speech and language
When and where?
Our classes will be held at Oatlands Community Centre on a Wednesday afternoon and at Elim Pentecostal Church on a Thursday morning.
The classes are term time only and will be in blocks of 5/6. The first block runs from Wednesday 1st March until Thursday 30th March and is £35.
In addition to our weekly classes, we will also have fortnightly ‘Intergenerational Stars’ at The Cuttings (Harrogate Neighbours) on Monday afternoons. Please keep an eye on our social media for more details on these extra special classes!
Who’s behind the mask?!
I am Ami, the founder of Stardust Drama! Drama and Theatre have always been my passion since I was an infant.I followed my dreams and studied Drama and Arts Education at Bretton Hall before moving to the bright lights of London to do my PGCE (Drama) at The Central School of Speech and Drama. For 7 years I worked as Teacher in Charge of Performing Arts at Heckmondwike Grammar School and completed my Masters in Performing Arts at LIPA alongside it (meeting Sir Paul McCartney when I graduated!). I left secondary school teaching to raise my two sons, George and Harry, before moving on to own a franchise for 7 years, delivering music classes to babies, toddlers and pre schoolers. In 2021 I had my little girl, Isabella, and decided it was time to do what I had been wanting to do for years…. and Stardust was born!!
