Does March 8th feel like a new start? Is it the day you have been counting down to, that is marked in the calendar with a big red X?
Will it be the day when things return to normal and everyone can breathe a sigh of relief, or does it fill you and yours with dread? Not everyone is going to be skipping happily into the classroom on Monday.
Is won’t be uncommon for children and young people to feel nervous, anxious and even panicked as they try to remember what a day at school looks and feels like. Now imagine having additional needs and difficulties. The uncertainty and change, social pressures and worries can simply feel too much.
We understand this and support local families offering support services and gold standard assessments across ADHD, ASD and learning difficulties. There are no assessment waiting times and we continue to offer safe face to face assessments when it is appropriate to do so.
We are also announcing our new post diagnostic workshops that offers parents and carers the tools and strategies to support children and young people who are on the Austism Spectrum. Courses begin in April and run for 10 weeks. We can also offer private family sessions with qualified Mental Health and learning disability practitioners.
