Maybe your child is a bit apprehensive about catching up on missed learning? As schools reopen their doors many parents will be a bit anxious and hoping that learning gaps, specific to their child, can be addressed quickly.
Fundamental Learning is continuing to offer online sessions to support children as they readjust to school life after months of home learning. If you feel that your child needs some targeted support in the core subjects in the new academic year, our maths and English after-school sessions offer the perfect top-up tailored support.
Fun maths and English activities for children in years 3-6 form the basis of our small group sessions and are led by Alex Straughan, a former local primary school teacher and maths lead. Like many after-school activities, the sessions moved online during lockdown and have gone from strength to strength with one parent commenting about their son’s progress: “He really enjoyed it…He thought Alex was lovely and he has been showing us what he was working on… You’re a hit!”
This September, more than during any other academic year, returning to school may be an unsettling time for children and their parents. Alex Straughan, who runs the weekly Fundamental Learning sessions, reflects that: “We have successfully transitioned from face-to-face group sessions to online learning. We understand that parents may be worried that their child has fallen behind in the core subjects during lockdown and we’re delighted that we can now offer weekly online lessons to support children in their maths and English learning.”
